For Justin Shealy, leadership extends far beyond the courtroom. As an attorney with Sodoma Law, Justin has built a growing legal practice while establishing himself as a leader among his colleagues and throughout the greater York County community.

Over the past year, Justin has achieved significant growth in his individual practice while contributing directly to the growth of his firm. He led Sodoma Law’s associate group in direct client referrals, bringing in 33 new matters—more than triple the next highest associate. Those referrals not only expanded his own practice but also helped strengthen the firm’s client base in York County and the greater Charlotte market.

At the same time, Justin manages a high-volume caseload of approximately 70 active matters, including complex, high-conflict custody and equitable distribution cases. His ability to balance a demanding caseload with business development has been matched by strong financial performance, consistently collecting approximately 90–95% of billed time.

But Justin’s impact within Sodoma Law isn’t measured only by numbers. He has also taken on a leadership role among the firm’s associates, mentoring newer attorneys and serving as a resource for case strategy and courtroom preparation. His combination of professional performance, business development, and leadership earned him recognition as both “Young Gun of the Year” and “Superstar of the Year” within the firm.

That commitment to leadership also extends into the legal community. Justin serves as Vice President of the York County Bar Association and Co-Chair of the South Carolina Young Lawyers Division Community Outreach Committee. Through these roles, he helps connect legal professionals with opportunities to serve their communities while supporting initiatives that make a meaningful impact beyond the legal profession.

Justin also invests his time in the next generation as a board member for Unity Classical Charter School, where he contributes to governance, policy decisions, and long-term strategic planning to support the school’s continued growth and success.

Service to children and families is especially important to Justin. At Judah Church, he serves on the Adoption Board, helping identify and support families pursuing adoption, including efforts to provide financial assistance to help offset adoption costs.

That commitment is also deeply personal. Justin and his wife serve as foster parents in Mecklenburg County, providing day-to-day care for children in need. It is a responsibility that goes far beyond traditional volunteer service and reflects the same commitment to families that can be seen throughout Justin’s professional and community involvement.
