As a leader with the City of Rock Hill, Queen Lundy is combining a passion for public service with a commitment to creating stronger programs, meaningful community experiences, and opportunities for others to grow. Through her work in Neighborhood Services, Queen is helping strengthen the community while developing into a thoughtful and impactful leader.

In her role as Community Engagement Coordinator, Queen has taken on a variety of projects focused on improving operations and better serving Rock Hill residents. Among her recent accomplishments is her work to strengthen the City’s award-winning toolshed program. Queen redeveloped the program’s standard operating procedures, resulting in increased operational efficiency, improved staff training by 100%, and a 98% on-time rental return rate.

Her leadership has also extended to some of the City’s large-scale community events. Queen helped coordinate the 2026 MLK Jr. Breakfast, which welcomed more than 750 attendees, and played a role in launching the Rock Hill Round-Up, the newest program within Neighborhood Services. The Round-Up attracted more than three times the number of attendees as the previous iteration of the event, creating another opportunity for residents to connect with their community.

Alongside these accomplishments, Queen has remained committed to her own professional growth. She refined her leadership skills through the City’s LEAD Program and earned her Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification through York Technical College. She is now applying what she has learned to the development of a new initiative through her department designed to empower young people and help prepare them for future leadership opportunities.

Her commitment to Rock Hill extends beyond her day-to-day responsibilities. Queen serves on the Southside Music and Cultural Trail Committee, an initiative of the City’s Economic and Urban Development Department working to create an interactive trail for residents and visitors. The project will celebrate Southside Rock Hill’s rich Black history and its contributions to music, education, arts, and culture. As a committee member, Queen contributes ideas, connects with community partners, and helps build community involvement and support for the project.

Service is also an important part of Queen’s leadership. As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, she has participated in numerous initiatives benefiting the York County community. Her service has included youth leadership programming, tree planting, food drives, preparing personal hygiene kits for thousands of women, collecting school supplies for Clinton College students, stuffing backpacks for Rock Hill Schools students, and delivering care packages to senior citizens.

For Queen, investing in young people is more than a single project or volunteer opportunity. It is an important part of how she hopes to contribute to the future of the community. Whether she is improving a City program, coordinating an event, celebrating Rock Hill’s history, serving local families, or mentoring the next generation, Queen’s work reflects a commitment to growth, accountability, and service. Through her willingness to learn, lead, and create opportunities for others, she is helping prepare both herself and those around her to make a lasting impact on York County.
