As Nursing Department Program Coordinator at York Technical College, Olivia Clark is helping shape the future of healthcare in York County. Through innovative teaching, strategic leadership, and a passion for student success, she is preparing the next generation of nurses while strengthening one of South Carolina's top-ranked nursing programs.

Over the past six years, Olivia has helped educate more than 300 nursing students, supporting them as they enter the healthcare workforce with the skills and confidence needed to succeed. During her time as lead LPN instructor, the program maintained a remarkable 100% first-time NCLEX pass rate, while consistently achieving course retention rates above 80%. York Technical College's nursing programs have also earned statewide recognition, frequently ranking as the No. 1 LPN program and one of the top RN programs in South Carolina.

Her commitment to excellence extends beyond the classroom. Olivia recently led instruction for the program's largest cohort ever, 85 nursing students, while continuing to provide individualized support and maintain strong academic outcomes. She also played a key leadership role during the program's successful reaccreditation process, helping ensure its long-term quality and sustainability.

Innovation is another hallmark of Olivia's work. At the 2024 South Carolina Technical College Association Conference, she presented an interactive "escape room" learning experience that she designed for York Technical College's nursing program. The project, now incorporated across multiple courses, challenges students to strengthen their critical thinking, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills in an engaging, hands-on environment.

Beyond the classroom, Olivia is actively engaged in serving both her college and the community. She serves as a team lead on York Technical College's Campus Engagement Council, advises the college's SkillsUSA chapter, and is a member of the South Carolina Technical College Association.

Her commitment to service also extends throughout York County. She has supported Pilgrims' Inn through holiday food and donation drives, organized collections of women's hygiene products and baby essentials for Battered But Not Broken Ministries and Tender Hearts Ministries, and volunteers at her son's daycare to promote literacy and early childhood education.

Whether mentoring future nurses, leading innovative educational initiatives, or giving back to families in the community, Olivia's work is driven by a simple but powerful goal: creating opportunities for others to thrive. Through her leadership, compassion, and dedication to excellence, she is making a lasting impact on York County and the next generation of healthcare professionals.
