He later spent six years as an insurance adjuster, gaining additional expertise in evaluating storm damage, construction quality, and insurance claims. But the role also required significant travel and time away from his daughter. Wanting to be more present for his family while building something meaningful for their future, he took a leap of faith and launched Merritt Roofing.

Today, the company serves residential and commercial customers throughout the Carolinas, offering roof replacements, repairs, inspections, storm restoration, maintenance programs, and insurance claim assistance. 2. Community impact is about more than installing roofs.

Through the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project, the company has provided four free roofs to York County veterans, along with several additional roofs for veterans throughout the Carolinas.

Merritt Roofing has also partnered with the City of Rock Hill through the Southside Project to provide a new roof for a homeowner who did not have insurance coverage or the financial resources needed to replace it.
