As the Executive Director of the Catawba Area Coalition for the Homeless (CACH), Melissa leads coordinated efforts to prevent and end homelessness across York, Chester, and Lancaster counties. Her leadership has strengthened outreach initiatives, expanded access to critical services, and launched a successful Rapid Rehousing Program—helping individuals transition from homelessness into safe, stable housing. Under her direction, homelessness in York County has declined by 9% in just the past year.

But Melissa’s impact goes well beyond statistics. Known for her warmth, authenticity, and honesty, she works directly alongside volunteers, community leaders, and local businesses to address systemic barriers and advocate for solutions. She’s cultivated a coalition of nonprofits and works hand-in-hand with the City of Rock Hill’s Office of Housing and Community Development and Pathways Community Center to ensure that housing solutions are community-driven and data-informed.

Melissa’s rise from an intern with the City of Rock Hill to one of the region’s youngest nonprofit directors is a testament to her leadership. In just a few years, she has secured hundreds of thousands of dollars in new funding, grown regional partnerships, and contributed to shaping policy as a board member for the Midlands Area Consortium for the Homeless (MACH), our region’s Continuum of Care.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Melissa lives out her values through ongoing community service. She regularly volunteers with organizations like Samaritan’s Feet and has coordinated donation events that restore dignity and provide comfort to individuals experiencing homelessness. Her hands-on approach and deep empathy make her a trusted advocate and a respected leader.
