3) Palmetto Business Barometer
The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce invite business leaders in South Carolina to participate in a meaningful, ongoing survey of business conditions in the state – the Palmetto Business Barometer. The survey measures business conditions and attitudes over time with an emphasis on behaviors to better understand the conditions South Carolina employers are facing and inform the public about the state’s economy and workforce. The Palmetto Business Barometer survey will take less than three minutes to complete each month. The survey will open the first full week of each month and remain open for two weeks. It will close, and the results will be analyzed and published soon. This process will repeat monthly throughout 2023. The survey is confidential and individual results will never be published or released. The survey results will inform state policymakers and advocates about what businesses are facing on the front lines and will benefit South Carolina employers by providing a valid comparison to other business practices around the state.
