Construction Continues on New Chamber Headquarters
Construction is now underway at the soon-to-be new home of the York County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Those walking along Main Street can see backhoes inside the building digging through the floor. The front façade has been removed and barriers have been placed outside the building at 116 East Main Street. Target completion date is set for April 2004.


New Website Sports New Look
Members have been busy of late, navigating through the Chamber's new website. The new and improved site has a brand new look and graphic design and features a fully functional and searchable members database, interactive events calendar, site search capability and an option to register and electronically pay for events. Chamber member Investapro designed the site with ease and functionality in mind. Look for more exciting additions to come!


Nominations Now Being Accepted for Chamber's Annual Awards
In partnership with member Catawba Nuclear Station (CNS), the Chamber will soon recognize another York County citizen for the Eddie Black Memorial Award. This honor will be presented to an individual or group that has worked for the "greater good" while overcoming geographic or political boundaries. Nomination forms and award guidelines are available at the Chamber. Nominations are also being sought for Lifetime Business Achievement; Fort Mill Area Council Business Person of the Year; Rock Hill Area Council Business Person of the Year and Tega Cay Area Council Business Person of the Year.


Plans underway for Chamber's Annual Meeting

Labor Law Seminar to Feature Two Topics
Human Resources professionals have an opportunity to further explore two timely topics during the Labor Law Seminar, hosted by the York County Regional Chamber and held at the Hampton Inn of Rock Hill. Kennedy Covington's Employment Law Practice Group will discuss the many challenges companies face when faced with downsizing, terminations and demotions. The second topic will focus on Handbooks. Registration for this seminar is $25 for Chamber members and $39 for non-members.
