Regional Chamber Recruits Over 200 New Members in Three Days

For the Regional Chamber, the area's largest organization for business development, support and advocacy, just got substantially larger.  Nine volunteer teams, totaling 130 supporters and self-proclaimed beneficiaries of the Chamber, recently recruited 201 new members.  The new recruits bring the total number of Chamber members to 950, a level not realized since 2008.

The program was conducted June 18-20 by the consulting group Your Chamber Connection, which is also a Chamber member.  The campaign was the state’s second most successful out of 21 such efforts led by the consultant.  Campaign volunteer leaders were Wayne Wingate of W-Square Advertising Specialties and Chamber Board Chairman Jeff Bushardt of Comporium.

The primary purpose of the recruitment effort was to grow and strengthen the Chamber, so that the organization can better serve its members and assist them in developing their businesses.  The larger member base gives both the new and existing members a larger number of prospects with which to possibly do business.

Top member recruiters in the campaign were Amelia Anderson (Comporium), Tony Cox and Brian Vaughan (Rock Hill Schools), Walter Hardin (Winthrop University), Manning Kimmel (WRHI AM 1340 / News Talk 94.3 FM) Grady Love (Honey Baked Hams), Rocky Miller (First Citizens), and Kenny Smith (Leitner Construction).

Chamber membership remains open to any business or organization that supports the organization’s mission of fostering a business environment that creates economic prosperity for members and the community.
