Leadership York County
Requirements
CHAMBER Requirements
Following graduation, LYCO participants are expected to continue developing their leadership potential by applying their experience for the benefit of our community. Contact information for each participant will be made available to area agencies and organizations, providing graduates an opportunity to become immediately and actively involved in a local committee, board or other service experience.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
The following attendance requirements reflect the commitment necessary to receive meaningful experience from your investment in the Leadership York County program. Participants are required to attend the overnight retreat. All other full-day sessions are required with one full-day or two half-day absences allowed. When possible, the participant will notify the Leadership York County Staff Advisor in advance of an absence. Absences in excess of those allowed will mean the participant will not graduate. In addition,
participants will need to budget time outside the regular program for the group project.
GROUP PROJECT
The group project is an integral part of the Leadership York County program and provides hands-on leadership development opportunities. Participants choose their project during the overnight retreat and meet outside the regular program schedule to research, develop a plan, and implement the project prior to the graduation ceremonies.
Past projects have allowed class members to partner with local agencies such as The Boys & Girls Clubs of York County, Keystone Substance Abuse Services, the York County Sheriff’s Department and the United Way of York County.
